Women & Girls programme bolstered by the return of highly experienced Coach

The City Of Leeds Basketball Club is delighted to announce that Coach Ben Allen will return to the club this season to lead our U14 Girls.



The City Of Leeds Basketball Club are happy to announce the return of veteran youth Coach Ben Allen to the Junior National League programme as U14 Girls Head Coach, after taking a one year break following 17 years of dedicated service to the young people of Leeds and West Yorkshire. 


This is a big opportunity for the young people within our programme to benefit from a Coach who has consistently developed players for close to 20 years. 


COLBC Director Matt Newby was delighted to bring back one of his most-trusted colleagues in such an important role:

“Ben is the perfect appointment to take stewardship of our U14 Girls cohort, who a dedicated and talented group, with some exciting prospects in the mix. Ben’s coaching style and demeanour will ensure that the girls maximise their potential and I’m excited to see what the season brings. Having worked with Ben for over 20 years in multiple quarters of basketball and sports development, I am elated that we can benefit from a trusted coach and friend, who will always put the programme front and centre.”

Coach Allen was excited to be returning to the club:


"I am extremely excited at the prospect of returning to the club, and play my part in the continual growth of the the girls' program into the 24/25 season! It's a special time to be a part of the club and I look forward to another great year for our young people."
