The City Of Leeds Basketball Club is happy to announce that Coach Olly Kerwin-Clegg will be returning to his role as Head Coach of the U14 Boys White squad this season.
Olly impressed in his first year as a Coach with the programme on multiple fronts, having worked within our Community and National League programmes. His attitude and aptitude for learning are excellent and the young people under his charge last season showed significant improvement throughout.
Olly had an excellent summer of development coaching both within our Foundation Camps and the prestigious Red Star Basketball Camp UK. We look forward to seeing him evolve further as a Coach and continue to contribute across our pathway.
COLBC Director Matt Newby was very happy that another young coach has chosen to continue their development within the City Of Leeds Basketball programme:
“Olly is a young coach with a great deal of potential, should he continue on the same trajectory. His contribution to the Community and Development aspects of our programme last season were excellent and it was wonderful to see him enthused by his participation in our signature performance camp in the summer. If he continues to take the opportunities that are available within the programme, I have no doubt he will become a very strong coach over time."
Coach Kerwin-Clegg was feeling ready for the season ahead:
"I’m ecstatic about the opportunity to work with the U14 White team this season. Having worked with many of the players last year at previous levels, whether it be the U14 or the U12 teams I’m pleased about the great group of young people who will be training and playing together. It will be a very exciting season full of development and hard work with a great camaraderie around the squad as a whole I’m sure."
As we approach the start of the new season, the club is welcoming prospective new players to come along and join our programme. Please contact foundation@cityofleedsbasketballclub.co.uk
