COLBC are delighted to yet again have sent a touring group of City Of Leeds Academy prospects to visit our partners Crvena Zvezda in Belgrade.
The group of 30 young athletes and 4 coaches will spend a week at the infamous First Basketball Sports High School in Zeleznik, immersing themselves in the Red Star way, learning from the Red Star coaches, facing local competition and exploring Belgrade's cultural sites.
COLBC Director Matt Newby was very proud of being able to afford this opportunity to our young people:

The opportunity to work with the elite coaches at the sports school and embrace a new culture and setting is important for the young people within our programme. Especially for those who have aspirations of playing at another level."
The group started strong on Tuesday in their first competitive outing picking up a win against Belgian side Castor Braine.
A loss to local Belgrade side Team Suter followed in another great showing from our touring group.
The tour is a product of the ongoing partnership between Crvena Zvezda and the City Of Leeds Basketball Academy.
