The City Of Leeds Basketball Club is excited to announce that Coach Dave Sailsbury will be returning to his role as Head Coach of the U12 Boys this season.
Following a highly successful year of developing our young talent, Coach Sailsbury returns to work with a very exciting cohort of young players and Dave's attention to detail and fundamental development, ensures that our pathway has a bright future. Dave has extensive experience as a player and coach and closely understands the needs of our youngest generations. The feedback from last season's tenure was exemplary from players, parents and peers and we are excited to see our 'generation next' grow under his lead.
COLBC Director Matt Newby was feeling confident that this appointment underwrites our commitment to giving our youngest members the best opportunity to step into the sport.
“Dave's wealth of experience on the court as a player and as a coach underpins his approach to development, and his diligence in both preparation and teaching ensures that our young people get a great experience each and every time. I am thankful for his commitment to our pathway and look forward to seeing this new generation flourish under his charge."
Coach Sailsbury was looking forward to building on the successes of last season:
"I am really excited to get my second season with our U12 group started. This age group is all about developing a love for the game and building a sound foundation of fundamentals. Many of our players came a long way last year and with quite a few remaining in the cohort alongside some new faces, we have a great opportunity to really kick on this season. I can't wait to see how all of our players grow and thrive over the course of the year."
As we approach the start of the new season, the club is welcoming prospective new players to come along and join our programme. Please contact foundation@cityofleedsbasketballclub.co.uk
